KW Glee is an outstanding youth show choir that perform live in southern Ontario. There group is divided into junior and senior groups. The concept was conceived by musical director Steve Lehmann and voice director Amanda Kind, who were inspired by the hit television series, Glee. But this Kitchener-Waterloo organization is distinctly different than the televised show because it performs without cuts, takes, splices, voice-overs or auto-tuning, and the cast members don’t earn Hollywood salaries. KW Glee is built of young people aged 9-21 whose enthusiasm for song and performance might rival Rachel Berry’s, but who pull it off with considerably more swagger.KW Glee has had the opportunity to perform a variety of shows; as a feature at the KW Arts Awards and Waterloo Region’s Got Talent at the Centre in the Square, as showcase performers at the first ever national Show Choir Canada competitions in Toronto, as a flash mob for the KOOL FM Poster Boy Campaign kick-off event, as the headlining act for the City of Kitchener New Year’s Eve event on December 31, 2010, and many more.Original music is also a big part of KW Glee. KW Glee has worked with multiple Juno and CCMA nominees Jamie Warren and Giselle Sanderson. There are three singles written for and recorded by the group which are available on iTunes and all other major online retailers with proceeds going to support local charities. For more information about KW Glee, please contact Steve Lehmann or call or text (519) 505-4947.
